Organizing & Civic Engagement
Youth Organizing
We engage youth in driving community change, connect them with other youth and mentors, and help develop their leadership skills. Through organizing, they collaboratively address issues impacting their communities.
Political & Cultural Education
Policy Change & Advocacy
We advocate for policy and systems change in Orange County and California that addresses the root cause of issues affecting working-class Vietnamese and immigrants, and we provide culturally informed direct support for individuals.
Our Story
In 2018, VietRISE was founded with the mission to empower Orange County’s working class Vietnamese and immigrant community by providing a central platform for community organizing, civic engagement, and social and cultural transformation rooted in the principles of social justice and collectivity.
Organizing for Social Justice
Immigrant Justice
Everyone should have the right to migrate freely and safely. We are dedicated to dismantling the harmful, interconnected systems of mass incarceration and deportation by addressing the root causes of migration, and prioritizing the needs of Vietnamese communities through advocacy and action.
Housing Justice
Every single person deserves safe and dignified housing. We are committed to protecting renters and mobile home residents from losing their homes, empowering tenants to defend themselves and organize collectively, and holding landlords accountable through dedicated advocacy and policy change.
Goverment Accountability
It is a necessity for us to have accountable, transparent, and responsive Vietnamese leadership in government. We are committed to addressing and ending corruption, ensuring that our leaders serve with integrity, and increasing community access to governance to empower our people and uphold justice.
