Community Advocate (Immigrant Justice)

The Community Advocate is responsible for providing direct support and assistance to Vietnamese immigrant and refugee community members while advocating for their rights, leadership, and empowerment. They will work with the Immigrant Justice team within the VietRISE Community Resource Hub to carry out our immigrant justice objectives, assist with case management, coordinate and host community educational and skills-building workshops, and support the development and implementation of our new program for Vietnamese system-impacted individuals, the New Beginnings Network.

The ideal candidate is a people person who loves to talk with others; is highly organized; capable of handling sensitive, confidential, and time-sensitive information; passionate and committed to helping system-impacted and immigrant community members; and a patient, detail-oriented individual who believes in social justice and creative positive social change and building people power with Vietnamese, immigrant, and working-class communities.

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant plays a vital support role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of VietRISE. Responsibilities include maintaining office functionality, organizing records, and assisting in the administrative aspects of planning and implementation of our programs, campaigns, actions, and events. 

The ideal Administrative Assistant candidate is highly organized; takes initiative; finds joy in organizing physical and digital documents and materials; enjoys supporting others; enjoys learning and creating new systems for organization and internal communication; capable of handling sensitive, confidential, and time-sensitive information; is able to handle multiple projects at once; is an effective written and verbal communicator; and is an individual who believes in social justice, systemic change, and building people power with Vietnamese, immigrant, and working-class communities.
