Dear Community,

Happy Spring!

We’re feeling the transformative effects of the Year of the Snake here at VietRISE since we’ve been experiencing so many changes. One of these changes being that VietRISE has moved to a new office space!

Our new address is:
14351 Euclid St. #1W, Garden Grove, CA 92843
(just a few doors down from our original office space).
Stay tuned for larger events at our new location!

VietRISE is here to ensure that those impacted by the violent immigration legal system know that they are not alone–that you have resources and people available to support you. If you or a loved one you know is impacted and want support navigating the immigration process, email us at general@vietrise.org.

Additionally, we’ve also created a resource page specifically for Vietnamese community members in Orange County, CA, who are facing deportation or supporting loved ones in the deportation process. This page provides information on legal resources, record requests, and advocacy efforts. Please note: that this is for informative purposes only and is not legal advice.

Please click on this link to view the page and access resources.

Community Listening Session: Trump’s Impacts on Little Saigon

Thank you for joining us for our first community listening session of the year! We hope that this opportunity provides community members with a space to share their concerns, connect with others to process everything under this new administration, and find hope and continue to fight for our families, friends, and neighbors. We are grateful for everyone who attended and shared their stories and experiences with us. Let’s continue to organize with our communities and stand against Trump’s mass deportation campaign that tears Vietnamese families apart and his cutting of vital social services that directly impact the working-class community here in Little Saigon!

Khanhi’s story reflects the devastating impact recent deportation policies are having on Vietnamese refugees who have lived in the U.S. for decades. Her husband, brought here as a child fleeing war, was detained without warning despite years of stability and devotion to his family—highlighting how many Vietnamese refugees are now being swept up by a system that once protected them, tearing families apart and deepening fear in communities like Little Saigon.

Thank you, Lisa!

For the last few years, Lisa has played a key role in VietRISE’s organizing and civic engagement work as both a community organizer and community engagement coordinator. She led our field programs through multiple campaigns, including the hectic and high-stakes 2024 General Election, where her leadership helped secure the historic win of the rent control ballot measure in Santa Ana. Lisa also played a big part in growing our membership program. Thank you, Lisa, for your commitment, compassion, and impact.
