Little Saigon Community Festival to Bring Vietnamese, Mexican and Central American Communities Together

Santa Ana, CA – On Saturday, September 21st, immigrant and refugee communities from different backgrounds and nationalities are coming together for the 3rd Little Saigon Community Festival, a day-long community celebration in the heart of historical Little Saigon in Orange County, California. This year, the theme is ‘Rise for Justice.’

This festival, co-hosted by VietRISE, NDLON, and the Harbor Institute, is a vibrant, community-led event that aims to unite Vietnamese, Mexican, Central American, and all the communities that make up Little Saigon to celebrate immigrant and refugee communities, champion human rights in Little Saigon, and envision a more just future for all. The organizations released the following statement:

“Across the country, we see the vile face of racism and greed, provoked by the same people who have incited violence against our working-class, immigrant, and refugee communities. In the face of this divisive rhetoric, the people of Little Saigon are responding with love for their communities and courage in their hearts. This festival is our call to action demanding a better future.“

This daylong event, which will include food, music, and art-making, will bring together Vietnamese and Latinx youth, families, and other community members to build solidarity and call on local elected leaders to choose compassion over cruelty and champion the dignity and rights of every individual, regardless of their immigration status.

What: Community festival with local and international music performers, artists, and over fifty small business vendors, local community organizations, and food.

WhenSaturday, September 21, 2024, 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Where: Rosita Park, 706 N Newhope St, Santa Ana, CA 92703
